WHO IS YAMAMOTO?
Yamamoto (a Japanese company), since 1961, has been developing materials originally intended for pearl divers who dived into the sea every day in all seasons.
Since then, all Yamamoto materials have been designed to withstand environmental conditions.
Yamamoto is a company that uses traditional production methods, with a particular focus on sustainability. At the same time, it is constantly engaged in the search for increasingly advanced materials and technologies in order to offer products of the highest quality.

YAMAMOTO Materials
Yamamoto use Chloroprene rubber(CR), commonly known as limestone-based Neoprene, which, in addition to complying with the principle of sustainability, guarantees high performance in terms of resistance to atmospheric agents, abrasion, aging, and heat.
The rubber material Yamamoto, with a completely closed cell structure (honeycomb), it has extremely low density (lightweight), high flexibility, and excellent thermal insulation. Depending on the intended use and operating environment, Yamamoto offers a wide range of neoprene levels.
Since 1961, YAMAMOTO is dedicated to developing high-quality materials characterized by exceptional weather resistance, benefiting both people and the environment.

The main features required of a wetsuit are, first and foremost, the ability to provide warmth and protection from cold water and, secondly, flexibility, which is essential for ensuring maximum comfort. The ability of the material to maintain these fundamental features over time, even in particularly harsh outdoor conditions, is defined as weather resistance.
THE PROCESS
Manufactured in ISO13485 certified facilities in Japan
The rubber production process is similar to that of bread:
1. Limestone-based neoprene (Limestone CR) is mixed in a large mixer. The viscosity and dispersion of the rubber are checked.
2. The dough is left to rest overnight to stabilize its properties.
3. To achieve greater strength and durability, the mixture is blended with Carbon Black without IPA (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons); this is a
recyclable black pigment and therefore “green.”
4. The mixture is left to rest overnight to stabilize its properties.
5. Edible oil is added to make it soft and flexible, using food-grade “Tempura” oil to ensure sustainability and safety.
6. For better quality, any impurities are removed from the dough.
7. The dough is rolled out into sheets. Each sheet is checked for size, thickness, and weight.
8. The sheets are cooked with heat and pressure to create small bubbles evenly.
9. The edges are finished by hand to perfection.
10. The sheets are baked again to obtain the flexible, warm, and resistant YAMAMOTO material.
11. The slabs obtained are cut to any thickness, according to customer requirements. An expert staff checks the thickness.
12. Before shipping, the sheets are inspected manually by specialized personnel.
